They are F1 Tank raised. Very Hardy and no issues with them adapting to aquarium life. Better chance of getting even sex ratio compared to wild caught which are mostly males.

@Raymann88

The theory that most WC plecos are males does not always hold true.  I brought in a significant quantity of WC L397 from 2 highly reputable suppliers in the US within the past few months.  They were 3+ inches.  I received mostly females from both importers as per my requests.  Two groups are already breeding and I have shared a few L397 breeding updates on this and FB Pleco forums.

Gehan, I agreed it is not a hard and fast rule. I think the main differences are that the ones you brought in were 3" and at that size are sexible with a fairly high degree of accuracy. As well you specially requested the sex ratio and with higher volume orders suppliers are more likely to accommodate your request. At 1 3/4" they are not accurately sexible by physical characteristics but males at that size are more likely to find a cave and try to defend it making males easier to collect in the wild compared to females. With tank raised at that size, the odds of getting equal sexes is much higher.
