Do you always move the eggs to a tumbler as soon as they are laid? My dominate male is a poor father.

Yes, I harvest the eggs each time and my success rate is over 95%. It's a bad habit I picked up keeping Tanganyikan cichlids which I find hard to shed. The trick is to get the tumbling speed right. It should just rock the clutch but not too fast where the clutch has a bouncy motion. I also add a drop of Methylene Blue to the tumbler and leave for 5 minutes before connecting the airline.

I am no Pleco breeding expert like some folks in this forum, but what I have mentioned above has worked very well with my L46 breeding groups.
