It is a shame that at the last auction the price and demand for them has dropped greatly.

I had a pair a few years ago and the fry would just die off. Super disappointing for me... Are you  able to get these live past 1 month old?

I find that if they have enough and proper food chances are that they make it.

Of course, some may not make it. Unfortunate known fact!

There has been some Asian shipments of them that have been out bred and are now stronger. I have out bred them and now have strong fry.

I got a pair of red marble calicos.

Male is long fin and female short fin.

Charlie, any feedback if I cross them with the lf and sf super reds?

I have them all in the same tank.

It will depend on the blood lines If the strains are similar in genetics you should get a mix of Super Red and Red Calico. If the strains are both pure strains and not even remotely similar a cross will result in all brown fry. If the female of the calico pair came from long fin parents you should get some long fin fry.

I think the trio I had the genetics were super weak and the offspring were weak. I am hoping you have a stronger line of L144s. :)
