I haven't done any deworming. What would you use? His poo seems normal so I'm not suspecting anything

Some may suggest something else but I QT new fish with API General Cure....... it contains the 2 medicines that are good general anti-parasitic concoctions. Remember, just because fish may be eating and you can't see stringy or white poop, doesn't mean the fish might not have any internal parasites. I see it as good preventative medicine and a must do before joining them to any other population. Lethargy of fish is another example of a "sign" something may not be "right". I keep other meds on hand but dont necessarily use them unless needed. Lemamisole is another good anti-parasitic med that can be mixed with food for "direct-injection" if need be.

Prazipro is a good QT medicine and has a slightly higher dose of praziquantel than general cure. Some folks prefer PP, especially against certain fish that might be sensitive to the other active ingredient in GC. The other active ingredient found in General Cure is metronidazole, which is mostly used to fight intestinal worms/parasites. Metro is not as gentle on fish as prazi I don't think so some don't like to expose fish to that unless they have to. Personally I want the metro in the mix to deworm the fish, especially if they are WC. You can also medicate the GC at 90% strength if you want to error on the side of sensitivity. I'm currently QTing some plecos I got from Spencer on GC and finished. All are just relaxing in clean water now waiting for the end of QT. My 2 cents worth......

Ok thanks for the advice. I have the prazipro on hand, not the general cure. I'll look more closely at the difference. Thanks for your advice

Both L27s are together now with the L25. Things seems fine no scrapes or rough housing anymore.

Very Nice L25/L27 and Geo, thanks for the video !

Any tips to keep Geo Altifron ? I have 7 and they are scared of everything... they are approx 6" in a 125g

They are with 1 Mega Barrae (8''), 3 L24 (6''), 1 L273 (5'') and 1 L177 (4'').

As for filtration, I have a FX5, DIY 40g wet/dry + K1 and 4 Hydro V sponge.

Mine are bad too. The only advice I have is feed at the same time everyday and keep the lights on a schedule. It's really the only time they come out to front of the glass and swim around. When the lights are off and I walk in they are easily spooked and hide.

In this tank they are pretty good if it's just me and I come in when the lights are on they stay out because they are expecting me to feed during that light periode

Whiskers fell off shortly after I got him but they didn't take long to regrow bigger than ever. I've seen him fight the other l27 and he sticks them out to the side. The other l27 doesn't stand a chance.

They do seem to be getting along, only a few split fins here and there.Posted ImagePosted Image

Nice 75g. I see the foam on the end.... would you say that it your biggest filter on that tank or are u running an external canister as well?

Thanks. It's a hamburg matten filter with two homemade lift tubes, one other song filter and an aquaclear 70 powerhead for some flow.

Used to use canisters, got rid of them all together for less maintenance and reduced electrical costs
