Is anyone keeping Chameleon whiptails? I was interested in getting some but would like to hear others experiences with them.

very easy keep once acclimatized but need sandy substrate. I got some from Curtis a few years ago. It has been bred in aquarium environment.

Doing great. They are with other plecos. I think you need a dedicated tank for them to breed successfully.

Another similar fish. Looks a bit like Spencer's too.

Can whiptails be easily bullied by larger fish, like L025s or Panaques, or if the tank is large enough they are good with bolder personalities?

I would not put them with L25 or L27. It is best to put them in a dedicated tank or with L134 size plecos.

I have asked the magician about her water parameter and temp. Her replies is,  "The water is half RO and half HMA Temp is around 27c Good filtration and water changes every 3 days. Easy! LOL". "HMA=Heavy metal axe. Removes heavy metals and ither chemicals. Removes the need for water conditioner."

I assume the tap water in UK is quite hard.

I figured as much but thought I would ask....... they look to be pretty placid. So many fish...... so few tanks! :hugging:
