I had one that spawned at 2.5 yrs old. However, for consistent spawning i would say after 3.5 yrs old.

Wow, you're pumping them out like a machine!  They are certainly looking great.

They have been on a good run so far. They have been spawning for about a year now non-stop and i have a feeling they are taking a break.  My mentor Eric Bodrock is still amazed at how much I'm pumping out as well. I guess having the right combination works...I guess i just lucky...lol

Now i'm hoping my younger breeding group starts spawning soon as well....time will tell

Really nice

Thank you very much!

I always appreciate a success story! Just get those Altums to breed now! You may have the magic touch- now tell that to your lovely spouse!

Thanks man. I really got lucky with them.

Altums! Now that challenge is on. If someone else is breeding them i will try to replicate it...lol

Magic Touch...hmmm. Yes,  i do have a lovely, supportive and very understanding spouse. However comments still fly like " Man with the time and effort you put in them they better produce, Sometimes i wish i was your plecos because  you notice the little changes in them and get more TLC". She does not care much for them until  i caught her admiring and watching the fry scoot around my tank. Must me the maternal instinct.

ha ha ha....

Theres a number of people that have been able to get them to lay eggs, its hatching them and having them survive thats the really hard part apparently.

For anyone that has a subscription to "AMAZONAS" magazine, an article has been published in regards to Robert Budrovcan's work with the L236. He is already on his F8 (8 generations) and the outcome is really fantastic. He has kept the line pure and did not do any cross breeding with any other hypancistrus to get the end result.

Rich, can you chime in on how I can link the PDF article...thx
