Kale is probably the best food for bushynose plecos. All you have to do is freeze it. When you want to feed it yo just pull out a leaf cut it into the size pieces that you want and anchor it with a clip or a fork. It usually gets devoured the second day when it starts to break down. It is about the richest food there is with high protein and all 9 amino acids.

Here is what it contains in vitamins alone.

Yes Kale is delicious, I've had it many times Tastes good sauteed with garlic and olive oil. Its very healthy.

So I put the kale in yesterday and the plecos are chowing down. They love it!

I stand corrected. You are right. When I had mine for a number of years they ate almost anything and everything when I stop to think about it.

Yes they do eat everything. My group eats a variety of pellets, sweet potatoes and cucumbers.

Do you freeze it first so it breaks down the fiber?

I did. My royal whiptails like it but it absolutely stinks. Tried Broussel sprouts and no one touched it. Cucs and zucchini get devoured. Still trying to see if they warm up to the sweet and regular potatoes...... not too much yet. Tried romaine lettuce and no takers.

Grits are like a lumpy Canadian wall paper paste and would make one hell of a mess of your tank.
