I received two L144 plecos from someone few days ago and it had this skin/bone issue and it seems to be getting worse. Can someone help ID the problem and treatment if possible?

Its stomach is caved in like it haven't ate for weeks and the top of the head seem to have an indentation and white colouring and theres some red marks on the body that seems to be persisting. Don't want them to die when I just received them.

I put a little bit of API salt to see if it would help

If the stomach is too far sunken in, the pleco cannot recover. Hopefully you have a chance. Is the eating? keep the water really clean, change it every day.

When buying plecos always check the stomach and eyes to make sure neither of them are sunken in. Goodluck

I would say it is too late to save it. The L-144 is a weak strain that is highly inbred.
