hey gang, I lost my female red hump geo last night, she had been exhibiting signs of an internal disease for a few days. unfortunately I was busy with work and didnt get around to treating her in time.

clear stringy poop, not eating, belly was swollen.

similar thing happened to my large L25 a few months back. I'm thinking I have an internal parasite/worms going around in my tank.

I've got all the meds needed for treating such things I was just looking for some advice on what path to take. Also do any of you have experience with feeding metro for internal parasites?

thanks in advance for the words.

Mike

Metro doesn't do anything for internal parasites

You need a good dewormer
Angelfind sell a discus dewormer that works great

This might not of been a internal parasite issue it could possibly be a bacterial infection
Especially if this fish isn't newly added and has been in your tank for awhile now

hmm, yeah she is one of the older red humps in my tank, prob an f2, was at least 3-4 years old.

she wasnt flashing but I have seen my large male red hump and my large black bar silver dollar flashing from time to time. thats why I was thinking treating the whole tank with metro, and feeding the dewormer. i dont know if that makes sense. I contacted angelfins, the dewormers are out of stock currently, waiting for them to be back

I currently have a large school of altifrons that I bought from John that I am focusing on, and just picked up a small male brasiliensis. but let me know if you have a good female red hump you'd be willing to part with, I could trade you for a good young male I have once the tank is treated.
