Any one have a recipe for a great beef heart mix - just looking at supplementing my pseudacanthicus' and hypan diets and I also have wild discus that I would feed this to but I have lost my formula that I used to use.

I used Discus Hans recipe when I had discus, plecos seemed to enjoy it as well.  I just had a butcher grind up SUPER lean beef though instead of beef heart, worked well.

This is what we use at the moment.

3 lbs. ground beef (7% fat or leaner)
1/2 lb. cod (skinless)
1/2 lb. shrimp (peeled)
2 table spoons peas (from a can)
Everything raw, I put it through a meat grinder and then in the mixer.

In the bowl add:
25% flake food (by volume)
1 ounces of Red Paprika powder
+ vitamins (7 tablets)
and 2 table spoons Oatmeal.

Vitamins I use human A to Zinc from Centrum, put them in a coffee grinder and mix in the food.
But you can use anything they sell in the fish shop.

We freeze it in cans of 5 to 6 lbs (1 feeding lol)
You can freeze it in ziplock bags (fish bags work too) freeze it and thaw what you need the next day.

hope this helps,

A lot of discus people have now turned to salmon instead of beef.
