I would like opinions on the Finnex Monster Rays? I like my tanks super bright for viewing no live plants. Just brightness and colour pop. I've read about them and viewed some videos, but I still find it hard to tell.

Can anyone shed some light here.....that uses them.

Thanks Ted

I have the 7000k, monster ray and fuge rays on 5 tanks - 2 planted 120's - 32" tall with CO2 on one and nothing on the other and have had great results.
The other tanks are 500gallon and I have four 7000k on that one ans it looks great
The other is 300 gallon pleco tank and the 7000k lights with the monster rays make the colors look fantastic.
The two smaller tanks have fugerays and really are a great light for cories, shrimp and Plecos.

The new ones have longer chords which is very helpful for people with tall tanks and they are very compact, light and look great without a lid.

I like that they are three prong for grounding but I hear that a combo 7000k and RGB light is coming out shortly. The other LED's on the market are not as bright and do not last as I have tried marineland, coralife, and one other common brand sold by Hagen.

I have used a light meter and the output is what they say it is which is quite rare since most companies exaggerate the performance of their LED lights by 25%.

My rep has not told me about a 7000k/RGB unit....  I will ask him though to confirm.  They for the most part tell me about any new upcoming products before there is any speak of it in any of the forums.

So it looks like I'll have to first try a 30" as a test drive. I'll put it on my wish list after my Pleco's arrive.
Thanks

You will need some Fish with Red/blue coloration to really make these colors "glow" when you use the Finnex Monster Rays!
