Just wondering as alot of you have had many different species of plecos over the years, I've had an L14 now for almost 3 years and hes barely doubled in size......

where as I have had an L190 for about a year and a half that has almost tripled in size.

I know water changes have a huge impact on pleco health, but who have you seen the best/least growth in of all the species.

cheers
Mike

IME
L-14 grow pretty fast. They eat a lot and need very clean water to thrive.

Fastest growing I've had are L137 they grow very fast.

I have some you g L-27's who have gone from about 2"TL to 6"TL in a year and a half. I'd say the slowest growers I have are my L-418's

I have found that at 2 years old the L-174 are only half the size of their parents. A 2 year old L-066 is full size and spawning.

I have discovered that at 2 years of age the L-174 are only 50 percent the dimension their mother and father. A 2 season old L-066 is full-sized and breeding.........
